Early morning of July 31, 2025, in Liangshan Special Purpose Vehicle Industrial Park, Jining, Shandong, three 27,000-liter 4-compartment oil tankers with the logo of Luyi Automobile were loaded onto transport vehicles one after another, officially starting their journey to Armenia. These Luyi Automobile oil tankers, with a total capacity of 81,000 liters, will be transported by China-Europe Railway Express to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, becoming the first substantial achievement of cooperation between Luyi Automobile and Armenia in the field of energy equipment.
These oil tankers of Luyi Automobile adopt a 4-compartment independent design, which can load multiple types of oil products such as gasoline, diesel, and kerosene at the same time, meeting the demand for simultaneous scheduling of multiple categories in Armenia's energy transportation. The precision metering system equipped on the oil tankers can control the error margin within 0.5%. The anti-corrosion tank body, treated with special technology, can withstand temperature changes from -30℃ to 50℃, fully complying with both EU and Russian certification standards. Engineers from Luyi Automobile stated that the domestic high-efficiency engine installed on the oil tankers can still maintain stable power output in areas above 3,000 meters above sea level, perfectly adapting to the mountainous transportation environment in Armenia.
As an energy hub in the South Caucasus region, Armenia has been accelerating its energy structure transformation in recent years, with an increasingly urgent demand for professional transportation equipment. This cooperation between Luyi Automobile and Armenia is a pragmatic measure under the framework of China-Armenia "Belt and Road" cooperation, highly aligning with the initiative of "strengthening new energy equipment cooperation" in the Haikou Declaration jointly signed by China and Armenia in April this year. During a previous inspection, the Ministry of Energy of Armenia stated that the performance of Luyi Automobile's oil tankers in terms of loading efficiency and environmental adaptability is exactly what Armenia needs for upgrading its energy transportation network.
Luyi Automobile's ability to quickly reach cooperation is inseparable from the support of Liangshan's special purpose vehicle industry cluster. As a well-known national base for special purpose vehicles, Liangshan gathers nearly 200 supporting enterprises, enabling localized collaboration from tank welding to intelligent system integration. Relying on this advantage, Luyi Automobile completed international qualification audits such as EU CE certification and Russian GOST certification in only 12 months, 40% shorter than the industry average cycle. The three exported oil tankers have driven 12 local supporting enterprises in Liangshan to participate in production, among which key components such as tank steel and metering sensors have all realized domestic substitution.
The person in charge of Luyi Automobile revealed at the departure ceremony that in response to Armenia's future demand for green energy transportation, Luyi Automobile has launched a research and development project for hydrogen fuel oil tankers, planning to complete prototype testing and launch them to the market in 2026. This model will be based on the existing oil tankers and adopt a hydrogen-electric hybrid system, reducing carbon emissions by more than 80% compared with traditional models, further conforming to the "Belt and Road" concept of green development.
From the layout of traditional fuel transportation equipment to new energy vehicles, the cooperation between Luyi Automobile and Armenia is extending from a single product supply to the whole industry chain collaboration. Industry insiders analyzed that the export of Luyi Automobile's oil tankers to Armenia not only reflects the manufacturing strength of China's special purpose vehicles but also marks a new stage in the cooperation between countries along the "Belt and Road" in the field of energy equipment – achieving mutual benefit and win-win results through technical adaptation and industrial collaboration. With these oil tankers put into use in Armenia, it is expected to increase the efficiency of local refined oil transportation by 30%, providing solid equipment support for Armenia's energy transformation.
